Overview

A private walking tour of the Dubrovnik city walls. The published route begins at the east gate, Ploče, and continues to the walls entrance near St. John's Fortress. The walls run about 1,940 meters (6,365 feet). From the ramparts you look over streets, houses, palaces, fortresses, and monasteries, including places used in the filming of Game of Thrones. The guide covers the city's history through the centuries, including the Homeland War.

The tour is about 2 hours 30 minutes. It is your group only. Public transportation is available nearby. Hotel pickup is not included. The Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel in Mlini is a short drive from the Old Town if you are staying on the Dubrovnik Riviera.

Ploče Gate

Meet at the east gate of Ploče. This is the landward entrance on the east side of the Old Town, with a stone bridge leading to the arch.

The city walls

The guided walk follows the ramparts for about 1,940 meters. You look down on the red roofs and out to the Adriatic, and the guide points out fortresses, monasteries, and filming locations. Food and drinks are not included. You can carry your own.

St. John's Fortress

The published route continues to the walls entrance near St. John's Fortress, at the old harbor. The fortress and the sea wall are part of the same circuit.
