Frequently asked questions
How long is this Croatia tour?
Nine days door to door, with seven hotel nights: three at Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel and four at Amphora Hotel in Split. The plan is for six travelers. The published price is from $4,450 per person.
Which hotels does this Croatia tour use?
Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel in Mlini, in a Deluxe Twin room, for three nights, and Amphora Hotel in Split, in a Superior Double or Twin room with a sea view, for four nights. The price includes breakfast daily. Amphora also lists free Wi-Fi.
Which guided days are on this Croatia tour?
An Old Town Dubrovnik walls day, a private Dubrovnik-to-Split transfer with a five-course lunch at Ston and on Pelješac, and Krka National Park from Split. The Hvar and Pakleni Islands speedboat is on the Croatia activities page and is not a day on this plan.
How do the two Dubrovnik walls plans differ?
The trip notes a morning on the city walls at opening and a late-afternoon cable car to Mt Srd, and it mentions a Dubrovnik Pass as something to consider. The activity page linked for that day is a private walls walk from Ploče Gate to St. John's Fortress, about 2 hours 30 minutes, and that walk does not include the walls entrance fee, a cable car, or hotel pickup. Ask Theresa which one is booked.
What happens on the open days in Dubrovnik and Split?
One day at the Sheraton has no scheduled event, so it is open around Dubrovnik. In Split, one day is on your own on the Riva Promenade and in the cellars of Diocletian's Palace, and one day is open before the morning flight home.
Itinerary
Clock times below are the pickup times written on the transfers. Calendar dates, seat numbers, and flight numbers are not listed.
Newark to Dubrovnik
United Airlines nonstop from Newark toward Croatia, about 9 hours, for six travelers. The ticket is booked through Travelin' with Theresa. The plan does not name a cabin. The route line on this page reads JFK to Dubrovnik to Split. The flight written on the plan leaves Newark.
Arrival, then an airport pickup at 11:15 am for six passengers. Pickup is in Dubrovnik. Drop-off is the Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel.
Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel
Three nights. The room on the plan is a Deluxe Twin. The hotel is on the beach in Mlini, at Šetalište dr. Franje Tuđmana 17. The plan describes it as centrally located in Mlini, right on the beach, and notes a reduced rate already reflected in the package. The published price includes breakfast daily. The hotel page is Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel.
Old Town walls and Mt Srd
The plan names a Dubrovnik Super Saver day: walk the Old City walls at opening, then a late-afternoon cable car to Mt Srd for the view over the city. It also says to consider a Dubrovnik Pass for entry fees and local transport. That pass is not listed as already held.
The activity page linked for this day is a different product: a private walls walk from Ploče Gate to the entrance near St. John's Fortress, about 2 hours 30 minutes, your group only. Hotel pickup is not included. The Old City Walls entrance fee is not included. That private walk does not include the cable car. Ask Theresa which of the two is the one on your booking.
Open day in Dubrovnik
One day at the Sheraton has no scheduled tour. The group is still at the hotel, with Dubrovnik a short drive away.
Dubrovnik to Split
Check out of the Sheraton, then the private transfer to Split with a five-course lunch. On this plan the ride is about 5 hours 30 minutes. The activity page puts the same day at about 5 to 6 hours. This lunch is the one lunch in the published price.
Pickup is door to door. The activity page allows Dubrovnik, Cavtat, or the surrounding area, which covers the Sheraton in Mlini. Drop-off is in Split, Trogir, or the surrounding area. On this plan the drop is the Split hotel. The group rides in an air-conditioned Mercedes-Benz with Wi-Fi. Taxes, local taxes, and parking are part of the transfer.
Ston is about 1 hour. Admission to the walls is included. The walls' original length is published as 7,000 meters. Then about 1 hour 30 minutes for lunch on Pelješac: a five-course meal in a stone house in a vineyard, with a private chef and sommelier. The published lunch is one 0.71 bottle of wine (Pharaoh Rukatac-Pošip or Pharaoh Plavac), water, a welcome aperitif (travarica, cherry, walnut, or nespola), an appetizer plate, mussels, grilled sea bream and potato salad, and bourbon vanilla ice cream with apple pie. Gratuities are not part of the transfer. Food and drinks beyond that lunch are not part of it.
Amphora Hotel
Four nights. Amphora Hotel is at Šetalište Pape Ivana Pavla II 51, Split, on the beach. The room on the plan is a Superior Double or Twin, sea view. The stay lists free breakfast and free Wi-Fi.
Split on your own
No guide is scheduled. The plan sends the group to the Riva Promenade and into the cellars under Diocletian's Palace. Those cellars follow the layout of the emperor's living quarters above them.
Krka National Park
The Krka day from Split is about 10 hours. It is a group tour, not a private one, and the group can be as large as 50 travelers. Meet at Booker, Marulićeva ul. 4, 21000 Split. The day ends at that same address. Hotel pickup is not included, so the ride from Amphora to the meeting point is separate.
The park stop is Skradinski Buk, plus a boat ride. Swimming time is in Skradin, the town, not at the falls. Park entry is paid in cash on the day. Lunch and drinks are not included. Cancel at least 24 hours before the start for a full refund.
Open day in Split
One day in Split has no scheduled tour. The group is still at Amphora, before the flight home.
Split to Newark
Check out of Amphora. A hotel transfer picks up at 7:00 am for six passengers and goes to Split Airport. Then United Airlines nonstop to Newark, about 10 hours, booked through Travelin' with Theresa.
