Overview

A private walking day in Hiroshima and on Miyajima, about 8 hours, with up to 12 travelers. Only your group goes. The guide is a local English speaker with more than 20 years in the city. The listing is also offered in Japanese and Dutch. The operator is Alex.

Pickup is from your hotel, when the hotel is in a selected area, or at an agreed meeting point. Hotel pickup starts about 15 minutes before departure. One meeting point is in front of Orizuru Tower, across from the Atomic Bomb Dome. The other is just outside the Shinkansen gates at Hiroshima Station. Theresa confirms the exact spot before the day. The day ends back at the meeting point you used.

The order is flexible. Pace, weather, and the tide can move the stops. On a high tide the day may start on Miyajima so you see the torii standing in the water. The ride from Hiroshima to Miyajima is about 1 hour each way, including the ferry. You pay the train and ferry fares, so bring yen. You also pay admission at the park, the museum, and the shrine. Lunch is yours. The guide can point you to local Hiroshima food such as okonomiyaki, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices. Miyajima and the Peace Memorial Museum are also on the sample Japan tour.
